Small excavator routine maintenance, the old driver must skills

Daily maintenance of small excavators refers to the inspection, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment and replacement of various parts of the excavator in 

order to ensure that the excavator can operate normally and efficiently. Small excavators in the process of maintenance can effectively reduce the 

failure rate of the equipment, extend the service life of the equipment, but also improve the efficiency of the equipment. Here are some tips to share 

about the maintenance of small excavators.


I. Preparation


1. Prepare tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, lubricants, cleaners and so on.


2. Check the manual: understand the excavator model, instruction manual and maintenance manual.


Second, shut down and power off


1. Turn off the engine: Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the “off” position.


2. Disconnect the power supply: unplug the negative cable of the battery to prevent accidental electric shock.


Cleaning and Inspection


1. External cleaning: remove dirt, oil and leaves and other debris.


2. Internal cleaning: Remove dirt and wear debris from bucket teeth, chain, tracks and other parts.


3. Check the fluid level: Check the level of hydraulic oil, lubricating oil and coolant, and add them to the specified scale if they are low.


4. Check oil leakage: check whether there is oil leakage in each connection, and tighten or replace the seals in time.


Fourth, regular parts inspection


1. Check the filter element: replace the air filter element and hydraulic filter element regularly to keep the air and hydraulic system clean.


2. Check the tracks: check the tension and wear of the tracks and adjust or replace them if necessary.


3. Check the tires: check the air pressure and wear of the tires, and inflate or replace them if necessary.


4. Check fuel cartridge: Replace the fuel cartridge regularly and keep the fuel system clean.


5. Check pilot cartridge: Replace the pilot cartridge regularly and keep the pilot control system clean.


6. Check the brake: Check the brake performance regularly, and replace the brake pads if the braking power decreases.


7. Check the slewing reducer: regularly check the slewing reducer oil volume and wear, such as low oil volume needs to be refueled, serious wear and 

tear needs to be replaced.


8. Check the walking motor: regularly check the walking motor oil and wear, such as low oil need to refuel, wear and tear is serious need to be replaced.


9. Check the engine: regularly check the engine oil quantity, coolant level and filter element, if the oil quantity is low, you need to refuel, if the coolant 

level is low, you need to add to the prescribed scale, if the filter element is dirty, you need to replace it.
