1Safety standards
EU CE certification: the product must meet the requirements of the EU Machinery Directive and other relevant directives, affixed with the CE mark. This
means that small excavators need to meet the basic requirements of health, safety and environmental protection stipulated by the EU in terms of design
, manufacture, etc., such as the stability of the mechanical structure, the effectiveness of protective devices, etc., in order to ensure the safety of the
operator and the surrounding environment.
UL certification: UL certification may be required for sales in the U.S. market. UL certification focuses on the safety performance of the product, such as
fire and electric shock prevention, and has strict requirements for the safety of the electrical system and fuel system of the small excavator.
Emission Standards
2 EU emission standards: European emission standards are very strict, and non-road mobile machinery needs to meet EU Stage V (Euro V stage)
emission standards. This requires a significant reduction in exhaust emissions from small excavator engines, including emission control of pollutants
such as nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, etc., in order to reduce pollution of the environment.
U.S. Emission Standards: The U.S. has similarly stringent emission standards, such as the EPA Tier 4 Final standard. The standard has clear regulations on
engine emission limits, test methods, after-treatment systems, etc. Manufacturers need to adopt advanced emission control technologies, such as
diesel particulate filters, selective catalytic reduction, etc., in order to ensure that the emissions of small excavators meet the standards.
Technical Specifications and Performance Requirements
3 Size and Weight Restrictions: Different European and American countries may have specific restrictions on the size and weight of small excavators, for
example, in some road transport regulations, the maximum size and axle weight of construction machinery, etc., to ensure the legality and safety of
small excavators in the transport process.
4 Noise restrictions: Europe and the United States have strict restrictions on the noise of the workplace, requiring small excavators in operation to
produce noise can not exceed a certain decibel. Manufacturers need to reduce the noise by optimising the design and adopting noise reduction
technology to meet the local noise regulations.
5 Performance and reliability: Users have high expectations for the performance and reliability of small excavators, requiring them to have good digging
capacity, operational flexibility, stability and durability. In the harsh working environment, the small excavator should be able to operate stably for a long
time and reduce the number of failures and repairs.
6 Product quality and certification system
ISO Quality Management System Certification: Although this is not a mandatory requirement in Europe and the United States, if a Chinese company
passes a quality management system certification such as ISO 9001, it will help improve the competitiveness of its products in the European and
American markets. This indicates that the enterprise follows internationally recognised quality management standards in the production process and is
able to provide products of stable and reliable quality.
Europe and the United States have strict and detailed requirements for small excavators imported from China in many aspects. These requirements are
not only for the protection of local operators personal safety, reduce environmental pollution considerations, but also to regulate the market order, to
ensure that the product can meet the actual use of demand.
